Twin Cities PC Repair Refund and Return Policy

Last Updated: September 16, 2026

At Twin Cities PC Repair, customer satisfaction is extremely important to us. We stand behind the products and services we provide and will make reasonable efforts to resolve any concerns with your repair, service, or purchase.

Because computer repair services, labor, software, special-order parts, and customized computer systems are different from ordinary retail merchandise, different refund conditions apply depending on the type of purchase.

Repair & Service Labor

Labor charges for services that have already been performed are generally non-refundable.

If you experience an issue related to work performed by Twin Cities PC Repair, please contact us as soon as possible. We will review the issue and, when appropriate, make reasonable efforts to correct a problem related to the original service.

Additional problems, unrelated issues, new failures, customer-caused damage, malware reinfection, software changes, operating system updates, third-party software problems, or hardware failures occurring after the original service may require additional diagnostic and labor charges.

A successful repair cannot guarantee that unrelated components will not fail in the future.

Diagnostic Fees

Diagnostic fees compensate Twin Cities PC Repair for the time and expertise required to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and diagnose a device.

Once diagnostic work has been performed, diagnostic fees are non-refundable, regardless of whether the customer chooses to proceed with the recommended repair.

When specified on the estimate or work order, the diagnostic fee may be waived or applied toward an approved repair.

Prepaid Support Hours

Prepaid residential support-hour packages may be used according to the terms provided with the package at the time of purchase.

Unused prepaid support-hour packages may be canceled for a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided no hours have been used.

Once any portion of a prepaid support package has been used, the package is considered active and is non-refundable.

Prepaid support hours have no cash value, cannot be redeemed for cash, and may not be transferred or resold unless expressly authorized by Twin Cities PC Repair.

Any promotional, discounted, or specially priced prepaid support package may be subject to additional terms disclosed at the time of purchase.

Parts & Hardware

Returns of unused retail hardware may be accepted within 14 days of purchase, subject to the following conditions:

  • The item must be in new and resalable condition.

  • Original packaging, accessories, manuals, and included materials must be returned.

  • Proof of purchase is required.

  • Special-order items may not be returnable.

  • Installed or used components may not be eligible for return unless defective.

  • Manufacturer return and warranty restrictions may apply.

Non-defective hardware returns may be subject to a restocking fee when Twin Cities PC Repair incurs a supplier, distributor, shipping, payment-processing, or restocking expense associated with the return.

Defective hardware will be handled according to the applicable manufacturer or distributor warranty whenever appropriate.

Special-Order Parts

Parts ordered specifically for a customer's computer or repair are generally non-refundable once ordered.

This includes, but is not limited to, laptop displays, batteries, keyboards, charging ports, motherboards, specialty cables, computer cases, custom components, and other model-specific parts.

If an ordered part is defective, Twin Cities PC Repair will work with the applicable supplier or manufacturer to obtain a replacement or otherwise resolve the issue according to the applicable warranty.

New & Refurbished Computers

Returns of new or refurbished computers may be accepted within 14 days of purchase when the computer is returned in its original condition with all included accessories and materials.

Computers that have been customized, specially ordered, built to customer specifications, physically damaged, or materially altered may not be eligible for return.

Labor associated with computer setup, configuration, data transfer, software installation, account configuration, customization, or other services is non-refundable once performed.

Before returning a computer, customers are responsible for backing up and removing their personal information. Twin Cities PC Repair is not responsible for personal data left on returned equipment.

Custom-Built Computers

Custom-built computers and systems assembled specifically to a customer's specifications are non-refundable once assembly has begun, except where otherwise required by law.

Individual components remain subject to their applicable manufacturer warranties.

Twin Cities PC Repair will work with customers to address warranty-covered component failures according to the warranty terms applicable to those components.

Software, Licenses & Digital Products

Software, digital licenses, product keys, subscriptions, and similar digital products are non-refundable once activated, registered, downloaded, delivered, or otherwise used.

Unused software or licenses may be eligible for cancellation only when permitted by the applicable distributor, publisher, or manufacturer.

Deposits

Deposits used to purchase special-order parts, equipment, or materials may become non-refundable once those items have been ordered.

If work has already begun, any refund of a deposit may be reduced by labor already performed, parts ordered, shipping expenses, supplier fees, or other costs reasonably incurred for the customer's order.

If Twin Cities PC Repair is unable to fulfill an order or perform the agreed-upon service, any applicable unused portion of the deposit will be refunded.

Data Recovery

Data recovery charges compensate Twin Cities PC Repair for the time, equipment, and technical work involved in attempting to recover data.

Because successful data recovery cannot be guaranteed, labor or diagnostic charges associated with an attempted recovery are non-refundable once the work has been performed, even when some or all requested data cannot be recovered.

Any separate success-based or recovery-based charges will be disclosed before applicable work is performed.

Remote Support

Remote-support labor is non-refundable once the remote-support session or service has been performed.

If the original problem persists, please contact Twin Cities PC Repair so we can review the work performed and determine the appropriate next step.

Canceled Appointments & Work Orders

Customers may cancel a scheduled appointment before work begins without incurring labor charges unless a cancellation fee, rush-service fee, special-order charge, or deposit was disclosed when the appointment or work order was created.

Once diagnostic work, repair work, remote support, or other billable services have begun, charges for work already performed are non-refundable.

Rush & Priority Service

Fees charged specifically for expedited, rush, after-hours, or priority service are non-refundable once priority handling or expedited work has begun.

These fees compensate Twin Cities PC Repair for prioritizing the work and do not guarantee that a repair can be completed within a particular timeframe when delays are caused by parts availability, manufacturer restrictions, shipping delays, unforeseen technical issues, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will generally be returned to the original payment method whenever possible.

Processing times vary depending on the bank, card issuer, payment processor, or financial institution. Shipping charges, payment-processing fees, special-order expenses, or other non-recoverable costs may be deducted from a refund when applicable and permitted by law.

Warranty Claims Are Different From Refunds

A warranty claim is not necessarily a request for a refund.

Hardware covered by a manufacturer warranty may be repaired, replaced, or otherwise handled according to the manufacturer's warranty terms. Twin Cities PC Repair will make reasonable efforts to assist customers with warranty issues involving products purchased from us.

We want our customers to be satisfied with the products and services they receive. If you believe there is a problem with a repair, service, or product purchased from Twin Cities PC Repair, please contact us before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback so we have an opportunity to investigate and address the issue.
